SimpleDock is a dock at the edge of your Workbench screen, in the manner
of the macOS dock. Simple to use; there is a lot inside.
- click to start, drag to rearrange, drag off to remove, drop icons
from Workbench to add them
- running programs: a dot and the number of copies; a click brings
all of a program's windows to the front, Shift+click starts another
copy, Del closes it; programs not on the dock show at its end
- long press: a list of a program's windows - bring one to the
front, minimise, show, close; Force Quit for a program that will
not close
- keys: minimise the active window, minimise all (by what is
active), auto-hide on/off; all changeable; the hotkey can be the
middle mouse button
- drop files onto a program to open them with it, into a drawer to
copy them, into a Shell window to type their paths - an archive
gets the command that unpacks it
- labels below the icons, on hover, or labels only; six colours or
your own; solid or transparent; auto-hide with a hotkey
- a settings window (simple side and Advanced), one plain text
settings file, the same keywords as tooltypes
- more than one dock: Save as... makes another, placed beside the
first and reached from its settings
- ARexx port SIMPLEDOCK: show/hide, icons, every setting
- optional crash reports, to send with a bug report
Minimum: AmigaOS 3.2, or 3.1.4, 3.5 or 3.9, and a 68030 with fast RAM.
Recommended: a 68040/68060 or a PiStorm / Emu68 system, and a graphics
card (Picasso96) with a 16- or 24-bit screen mode. AGA screens work,
more slowly.
Nothing to install: put the drawer anywhere and double-click SimpleDock.
The guide (SimpleDock.guide, for MultiView) has everything, one short
page per topic; the ReadMe is the same text in one file.
