BibCard is a database program to control BibTeX files. These are files
with references to articles, books, conferences etc. and are used in
combination with LaTeX.


It requires minimal v2.04 (kickstart V37) of the operating system. It has
been written and tested (using Mungwall and Enforcer) under v3.1 (V40),
but should run under 2.04 and higher.


BibCard has the following features:

  - It can handle multiple bib files at once. It opens for
    every bib file a new window.

  - It has an extended Annotation option.

  - It has a preamble option

  - It supports string entries.

  - Every entry that is unknown for BibCard will be stored,
    saved and is also editable.

  - For every entry and field is some help, explaining where
    it is used for.

  - It can read "" and {} pair's for field delimiters.

  - Sensitive help.

  - Search option.

  - Supports text entering through the textfield.gadget.

  - BibCard opens on the Workbench, a public screen or his
    own public screen.

  - For a custom screen any font can be choosen.

  - Is font sensitive.

  - Is an AppWindow.

  - Supports icon creation for saved bibfiles.

  - Extra User fields.

  v1.3 (24.3.1997)
  ----------------

    o The Find Window was given "GetStringKind" errors. This was because I
      had extra fields added to BibCard and was forgotten to update the Find
      Window code

    o The "Show User Fields" check box in the Preference Window is now
      working.

    o Added the User Fields to the Cite Window.

    o When running under Intuition V39 or higher the default Busy Pointer
      is used. (As set in sys:Prefs/Pointer)

    o Removed a bug which appeared when loading a bib file when starting
      BibCard from the shell.

    o Added keyboard controls to the Cite Window.

    o Added a sort routine to the Cite Window. It is not very fast, but
      it works.

    o Updated the manual.

  --------------

    o There were some Printf() statements leftovers from debugging. :-(

    o The new fields were not being saved (also because some debugging code).

    o The BibCard window becomes activated when you open BibCard or drop an
      AppIcon on it.

    o There where somy typo's in the guide. (Forgotten backslashes to
      escape backslashes)

    o It is now possible to open bibfiles with shift-click from the WB.
      Select a bibfile, hold the shift key and double-click on the BibCard
      icon.

    o The 'Save' function was broken.

    o Added new user fields: keywords, crossref, crindex, date, issn_isbn,
      location and signature.
