Description

Animation of 3 rotating globes connected to each other, allowing to view all
sides of the earth at the same time.

A smaller version (900KB) is available, in pix/anim/3GlobesSmall.lha
(320x200 30 frames) for amigas with 1MB RAM or TV output only.


Usage
¯¯¯¯¯
o Extract the archive to your HD or RAM disk (8MB)
o Workbench: Double-click on the anim (the icon default tool is set to viewtek)
o Shell: Type viewtek FPS=1 RAM:3Globes/3Globes.anim
o Press ESC to quit.


Notes
¯¯¯¯¯
o You can use higher FPS values up to 60 but might not look too realistic.
o This version of the anim was rendered with 60 non-looping frames to play
  better with viewtek but may loop well with other players.
o Playing it with multiview doesn't work well on my Picasso board.
  Perhaps a problem with the picture or anim datatype.


The Story
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
As I was watching the TV series Stargate SG-1 (with the actor from McGyver),
I noticed a display in the background of the briefing room, with three very
similar globes spinning around. 
I thought that it looked really cool so I started looking all over the net for
an MPEG or screen-saver of that anim but couldn't find any.
Eventually I decided to make my own.

At one frame per second, it does look pretty cool on a plat panel display.


Production

This was modeled and rendered in 30 minutes using Imagine on an Amiga 4000 with
68060-50MHz.
